Definition

Omnissiah is the Cult Mechanicus’s name for the Machine God — the divinity in whom all data, all motion, and all causation are perfected. The Cult holds that the Omnissiah is the source of all knowledge and that to acquire knowledge is to approach divinity.

Per the Treaty of Mars, the Cult formally accepts the God-Emperor of Mankind as a manifestation of the Omnissiah, while in private rite the two remain distinct theological entities. The accommodation is doctrinal, not metaphysical.

Aspects

Liturgical practice

Worship is not contemplative but operational. To service a machine — to clean, to oil, to recite the cant of awakening, to perform the prescribed diagnostics — is the prayer. Failure of a machine is treated as a moral failing of the priest first, and a fault of matter second.
