Privacy notice
This site (binaric.tech — the Codex Mechanicus) is a personal archive hosted on a shared server at Uberspace.de. Two layers of analytics are in use, both self-hosted on the same server. No third-party tracker runs here. No advertising.
What is collected
Self-hosted page analytics (Umami, runs in your browser)
- the URL you visit (including the language prefix)
- the URL you came from (Referer header), if any
- browser and operating-system family, derived from your User-Agent
- the country your IP is assigned to (approximate, country-level only)
- a daily-rotating non-personal hash derived from your IP and User-Agent
The hash is the only mechanism used to recognise a returning visit within the same UTC day. It is rotated at midnight UTC. No cookies are set. Nothing about you is shared with third parties.
Self-hosted server logs (web server, parsed by GoAccess)
- the domain accessed, URL, HTTP status code, response size
- your IP address with the last bytes truncated for anonymity
- your User-Agent string
- the Referer header, if any
Raw logs are kept for 7 days then deleted. Aggregated counts (per page, per domain, per browser family, per status code) are retained indefinitely for trend analysis.
What is not collected
- no name, email, address, payment or account information
- no cross-site tracking — no cookies, no localStorage entries set for tracking
- no advertising, no affiliate beacons
Legal basis (EU/EEA visitors, DSGVO)
Both analytics layers operate on aggregate, anonymised data — Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest in understanding traffic to a non-commercial personal archive). No consent banner is shown because no personal data is processed in a way that would require one.
