Summary
Sicarian are the elite martial operatives of the Cult Mechanicus, augmented to a degree that surpasses the Skitarii by a wide margin. Where a Skitarius is an infantryman improved, a Sicarian is a purpose-built weapon-form. Two principal patterns are deployed: Infiltrators and Ruststalkers.
Patterns
- Infiltrators — psy-clamoured close-assault operatives, equipped with power-stubbers and flechette-blasters; their helmets project a neuro-static field that disorients the enemy mind.
- Ruststalkers — close-combat killers; armed with transonic blades and razors that vibrate through armour at the molecular scale.
Doctrine
The Sicarian augmetics are extreme to the point that the cohort cannot be deployed in protracted operations: the systems must be cooled, recalibrated, and re-blessed between actions. They are precision instruments. Their existence is rare enough that some forge worlds field none at all; others, notably Stygies VIII, field unusually heterodox patterns.
