Summary
Stygies VIII is a forge world of Segmentum Obscurus that has, across millennia, accreted a reputation as the most doctrinally unorthodox of the major forges. Its Magi are accused — quietly, in Martian internal correspondence — of preserving xenotech and proscribed archeotech in sealed vaults. The accusation has never been formally pressed, because Stygies’ production of advanced infiltration cybernetics, certain specialised Skitarii pattern, and rare-pattern Titan components is indispensable to the wider Mechanicum.
Lore
- Region: Segmentum Obscurus.
- Specialty: stealth and infiltration patterns, specialised Skitarii loadouts, restricted-circulation Titan parts.
- Reputation: heterodox; the Stygian interpretation of the Quest for Knowledge admits considerably more recovery than Mars permits.
- Stygies has, more than once, declined to surrender materials demanded by Martian inquisitors — invoking ancient Treaty-clauses to do so.
Doctrine
The Stygian position is that the Sixteen Universal Laws condemn the soulless sentience and the alien mechanism, but say nothing about the study of either as research material. The line is fine and the Cult’s mainstream rejects it; nonetheless the world endures.
