Form

A short Binary Cant sequence — typically between four and twelve phonemes in the priest’s vocoder, or the equivalent in raw signal modulation when transmitted by direct Lingua-Technis link. The exact sequence varies by device class and forge tradition.

Operational character

The Cant of Awakening is, in operational terms, the priest-attested initialisation. The device, observing the cant, takes it as authorisation: a properly cant-anointed device starts in good order; an improperly cant-anointed device is, by Mechanicum tradition, sluggish to wake — though sceptics maintain this is observer bias.
